Kathi Herrmann is the Marketing Director for Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. She creates and implements marketing programs for the 500,000+ square foot outdoor mixed-use shopping center, including events such as Lights Up, Fall Festival, Play Dayz, Live Under The Oaks, Pink Promenade, and Pup Bowl. Previously she was the Director of Marketing for four regional shopping centers on Long Island, New York for Simon Property Group, including Roosevelt Field, the 9th largest shopping center in the United States. Kathi has been in the shopping center marketing industry for more than 20 years. 

Kathi majored in Marketing and received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT. 

Kathi and her husband Danny, relocated to Mount Pleasant in February, 2016 and spend their time with their incredibly cute rescue shepherd mutt Herbie.   

Amanda Bunting Comen grew up in Charleston, SC and graduated from the College of Charleston. An internship began her nonprofit career that morphed into marketing. 

In January 2019 Social ABCs was born to help small businesses and nonprofits with their social media management and strategy, public relations and other marketing needs to focus more on their business.

Amanda is a Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Charleston graduate and named one of Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 winners. She was a finalist for the Charleston American Marketing Association 2018 Spark! Awards for Best Twitter Presence, Best Facebook Presence and again in 2022 for Best Social Media Campaign. She was recently named one of the Top 3 Public Relations Firms in the Charleston Regional Business Journal Reader Rankings 2023 Official Business Choice Awards. 

Darius Kelly is the creative director and owner of Darius Kelly Design, a marketing company focused on delivering impactful creative solutions for small businesses, start-ups, and organizations who are looking to enhance their branding. 

He received his Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Graphic and Web Design from the Art Institute of Charleston. Since establishing the company in the Fall of 2018, he has always been passionate about brand development, web design, and digital marketing strategies that help companies grow and stand out amongst competition.

He is also a board member of the Charleston American Marketing Association.

Jennifer Maxwell is a Regional Director of Sales for Raines Company. She oversees the sales and marketing for hotels in the Charleston, Greenville, and Augusta markets. She has been in the hospitality industry for 19 years. 

Her most recent accomplishments include winning the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 and the William Brian Moody Leader Award by Charleston Leaders in 2023. She has also previously won the Best and Brightest award by Charleston Business Journal for 35 and Under in 2021. During her tenure at Hilton Garden Inn Charleston/Mount Pleasant, she was recognized by Hotelplanner.com and Meetings.com as one of 2015’s top 50 group sales managers. In 2016, she was awarded one of four Director of Sales Merit Awards. In 2017, she was awarded the Director of Sales Award for Hilton Garden Inns. 

She has volunteered with the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce since joining in 2015. 

My entire life has been centered around helping and serving others. I learned this from my father and his career as a public servant. One of my strengths is networking and connecting the dots to help people find solutions. Farm Bureau Insurance gives me the opportunity to do this on a daily basis.

Growing up in SC’s Lowcountry, I completed my education with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel in 1993. Following a college internship, I spent a total of ten years in state law enforcement, and contracted Federal community corrections in the Charleston area. Spending over a decade in the auto glass business as a location manager, I left that industry to further serve the community as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent.

I enjoy spending time with my family, and serving our community through various volunteer leadership positions. I am an avid outdoorsman:  competitive freshwater angler and conservationist.

Mike Compton is the President and Co-Founder of rūmbo Advertising. He serves as the Marketing Chair for the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce as well as the Director of Membership Experience for the Charleston American Marketing Association. 

After graduating from Michigan State University, he traded the Midwest for the Sunshine State in 2001 to start a multimedia producer career in Tampa, FL, where he led content production for brands of all kinds, from local non-profits to nationally known corporations.

In 2013, Compton co-founded a video production company called Three Chairs Productions. Three Chairs was acquired by rūmbo Advertising in 2021 to help bolster its content creation services and help find the soul of our partner’s brands.

Rebecca is the first Director for the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) 
helping to lead and grow an organization of 400 business and community members East of the Cooper by developing programs and networking opportunities and establishing collaborative partnerships. As Director, she has established relationships with key state, regional, and local leaders partnering with MPCC to create opportunities for meaningful engagement for the MPCC membership. She has also helped establish programs in partnership with the Town of Mount Pleasant to help businesses address challenges.. She loves helping individuals and organizations grow and thrive!

She has lived in Mount Pleasant for 25 years and has been a leader in the Charleston and East Cooper communities. She is the current PR Chair and Board member of the Bands of Wando Foundation and serves on the School Improvement Council for Wando High School.
